| The PADI Open Water Course consists of three main sections:
Knowledge Development:
Independent learning allows you to spend little time in the classroom and lots more time in the water! Using a multimedia approach and reviewing the main concepts with your Instructor you will build up your diving knowledge and get ready to become an independent diver in just a few days.
Confined Water Training:
The most beautiful beach on Roatan and the warm, crystal clear waters of the Caribbean will be the scenario where you’ll learn and develop your diving skills. Calm, safe conditions are assured at all times so you can feel comfortable and relaxed. So, focus, watch your instructor’s demonstration and practice until you master the skill; but...
don’t forget to look around: small fish, flounders, crabs, little shrimps and even eagle rays may be passing by you and you won’t want to miss them!
Open Water Dives:
Roatan’s pristine reef is home to thousands of colorful species and it is only steps away from the shore! As you progress with your knowledge and diving skills, your instructor will take you on 4 amazing underwater tours, where you’ll get to enjoy the marvels of the sea as you apply what you’ve learned in a safe real environment.
Turtles, rays, lobsters and hundreds of fish will escort you as you swim amongst a world of color, peace and beauty. You will get to try both shore and boat diving to gain more experience and confidence so be ready for a real breath taking adventure!
The duration of the course is 3 to 4 days. However, keep in mind that being a performance based class, the duration may vary if you need more time to master the skills and gain confidence.
Don’t worry at Bananarama, extra time and patience have no extra cost!
And one last thing: snorkeling equipment will be available at no cost during the course so you can continue to enjoy the reef before and after class!
